We want an educator who is comfortable outside in all seasons, skilled at building trust with children and families, and energized by multi-age, inquiry-based learning. • Build a safe, inclusive learning environment in the classroom and on the land
  • Support children's academic, social-emotional, and physical growth through play-based and experiential learning
  • Observe, document, and share student learning with families and the team
  • Model care for nature, self, and others in daily interactions

Qualifications

  • Relevant degree in Education (required); BC Teacher Certification preferred
  • Experience working with primary-aged children
  • Strong understanding of child development and inquiry- or play-based learning
  • Commitment to outdoor education; willingness to work outside in all weather
  • Valid Criminal Record Check and current First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain both)

What We Offer

  • A collaborative team with room to grow
  • Work that directly supports children and families
  • Annual compensation of $46,467 to $51,527, based on experience and qualifications
  • Daily time outdoors on one of Salt Spring Island's most beautiful properties
